As we previously made an article on (see article here), Moonchild yoga wear supports women by working with the organisation Women for Women International. We will this year continue the important work with Women for Women International and have some incredible updates on the previous work that has been done!
We are happy to say that this year we are increasing our support and will be sponsoring eight women through Women for Women International´s year-long training programme so they can learn how to earn and save money, improve their family’s health and make their voices heard at home and in their community, transforming their lives and creating change for the future.
“At Moonchild Yoga Wear we would like to support vulnerable women. With a dream to inspire and support women to create a better future, it was a natural choice to help Women for Women International. Their way of working is very specific and there is no doubt that the assistance arrives at the right place”, says Louise Wang Nielsen, Founder & Creative Director.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced Women for Women International to suspend their in-person training programmes in 2020. Reopening their classes is a gradual process, and they have taken tentative steps in resuming the in-person training in most countries now.
We are so excited to share with you that Moonchild´s sponsored sisters Francine and Mwavita were among those sisters to re-join their programme and have been able to graduate. After months of training and navigating the challenges of COVID-19, it was a momentous day for them and their classmates!
There are overwhelming numbers of women like Francine and Mwavita around the world who are currently battling against the odds to support their families, with remarkable courage and resilience. With the right support, they can become self-reliant and transform their lives and communities. It is companies like Moonchild sponsors who make it possible for women to get the support they need and that is why we feel like this is such an important part of our business.
We are thrilled to continue supporting women survivors of war and Women for Women International in 2021!
