We live in a world surrounded by social media, in a world where we compare ourselves to the people around the world. We live in a world where it can be hard to feel like we are good enough, in a world where 1 out of 10 globally have a mental health disorder (this includes depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders and more).
Global statistics show that the most common mental health disorder is anxiety followed by eating disorders.
Many of us are aware of the increasing mental health disorders. We are also aware of the benefits that meditation, as well as yoga and physical activity, can have on our mental health and maybe that is even one of the reasons why you show up for practice every day?
But even though we are aware of the benefits of our practice it can sometimes feel like we forget about them. That it sometimes feels like all the Instagram accounts we follow with yoga-related content are about beautiful poses and how to do a handstand but never about the actual benefits behind it.
So it is time for us on Moonchild to introduce March Mental Wellness Month! A month focusing on our mental wellness, empower ourselves and each other. The community surrounding Moonchild is filled with so many smart, beautiful and supporting people so it is time for us to start helping each other and healing together.
It is time for us to spread awareness about mental wellness and share practices for how to allow yourself to feel good.
This month is about YOU.
Moonchild is not just a brand but a community where we empower each other. It is a safe place for us to talk and share our stories. So let's do this together, holding each other's hand. Empowering each other and motivating each other. This is the mental health month that we do together, me and you.
