Why Spring Clean

Why Spring Clean

Spring cleaning. Why is it important? Why should I do it?

These might be some of the questions you are asking yourself if you are not a routine spring cleaner. Today, we are going to give a little insight into why we think spring cleaning is worth your while and why we love it! It comes down to three basic reason. Detoxing your life, organising your life, re-boosting your life.

First of all, what is spring cleaning? Spring cleaning is all about going through the different rooms in your home and getting rid of, either by donating or selling, the things that you no longer use or no longer bring you joy. It's about taking a hard look at the things that you really need. You can break it up into bits, instead of doing your entire home all at once. Or you can always choose to focus on your kitchen, closet or basement. It's completely up to you!

Detoxing your life.

Just as it is important to detox your body, it is just as important to remember to detox you life and spring cleaning is a perfect way to do it! By getting rid of the things you no longer use or desire you are cleaning your home, but also your mind of these "things" that are simply filling space without giving you any value. If you think about how great you feel after detoxing your body, whether it be with a cleanse or eating clean, image the feeling of detoxing your home. Having clutter in your daily life really does no good and it will be freeing to separate yourself from the clutter.

Organising your life.

This goes hand-in-hand with the detoxing. When you spring clean you have the opportunity to re-organise. The best way to do it is to take everything out of its place (you can break this up) and then you have the opportunity to re-organise how you see fit when you are done getting rid of your clutter items. Having an organised closet, shelf or kitchen is the greatest feeling and it can also save you a lot of time and stress. You can come up with a new system for how things are placed to provide a greater overview for your day. Again, you don't need to spend loads of money on this or do anything crazy that requires weeks of work. All you have to do is find a way to clean out and organise that works best for you.

Re-bossting your life.

By really taking a look at the things you have in your home, de-cluttering and re-organising you are able to not only free yourself but also give your life a re-boost. Being organised and only owning the things you need, think very minimalistic, then you allow yourself the opportunity to feel re-booted. Having a clean and organised home can really take weight of your shoulders and even increase your motivation and creativity. When we feel cluttered and trapped we are not able to be our best selves. After spring cleaning you are sure to feel refreshed, renewed and filled with energy to carry out a busy day filled with whatever it may be.

Spring cleaning doesn't need to be complicated, time consumer or a hassel. It can be a fun, freeing and social experience if you want it to be! It's all about mindset. Spring cleaning is something you can do yourself, by blasting some of your favorite music and enjoying the feeling of freeing yourself. It can also be a great family activity, just make it fun. Get the whole family to join or simply your partner and enjoy donating things that no longer bring you any value, but knowing that it could provide value to someone else. If you have the right mindset it really can be a fun activity for everyone.

So, if you are feeling a little cluttered, unmotivated or maybe even sluggish then maybe a good spring cleaning is exactly what you need! If you already have or end up spring cleaning this weekend or next, then let us know! Share your experience with us - we would love to hear your spring cleaning story.

Sending lots of love and good spring vibes to you!
