Happy Earth Day! With it being Earth Day today, we feel the need to talk more about this topic. It is such an important topic as we are currently living on the planet as we have another one to go, we are living as if there is a backup plan, but there is not. That is why we need to bring some extra awareness to this topic today and rest of the year. We believe that every little action we make can have an enormous impact and small acts when applied by millions of people can transform the world.
What is Earth Day?
Earth Day is celebrated globally every year on April 22 as a way to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It is a reminder for us how fragile our planet is and how important it is for us to protect it. It promotes environmental awareness but is also a way for us to remember that we can and must protect our planet not just on Earth Day, but every day of the year.
We are aware that saving the planet can feel like such a big task. But it is important to remember that it all starts with you. It is all about every little action that you take in your life that can make a difference. Take Earth Day as a day where you bring awareness to the topic and brainstorm of what you can do better. This is not about criticising and bringing attention to everything you do wrong, but rather to focus on what you can do better and what small differences you can make in your life for a more sustainable future. Here are some of our favourite ideas on what you can do on Earth Day, or any other day for that matter:
Activities to take care of the planet
First of all, to take care of the planet it is important to make people aware of why it is such an important topic. So take your time and start by educating yourself, because it is when you educate yourself that you can help to make other people understand the importance of taking care of the planet.
Why not plant something on earth day this year? Planting a tree, keeps the air clean and gives off more oxygen. Or why not try to plant some fruits or veggies as a fun Earth Day activity this year?Listen to a podcast
There are so many incredible podcasts that can educate and inspire us on the topic. Here are a few that we love:
The Minimalists - Ryan and Josh talk about the lifestyle and topic of minimalism and living a more conscious and fulfilling lifestyle. Get inspired by this podcast on what it is like being a minimalist and its environmental impact.
Warm Regards - Take your time and listen to the podcast Warm Regards where the host interviews journalists and climate scientists on the topic. It has a focus on climate change and its environmental impact and is a great educational podcast!

Make a fun activity and gather your family and pick up trash in nature. It is such a fun activity to do together with your kids and contributes to something so good.Make creative art from trash
After you have been picking up the trash, a fun activity to do together with the kids is to see if there is any of the trash that you can reuse and actually create something fun out of - get creative!Change your light bulbs
Take your time on Earth Day to make sure you have switched your light bulbs. There is a lot of difference once you can choose from and are many more environmentally friendly options. By changing them you can save a lot of energy and money.
Take a look at how you and your household recycle, make a brainstorming session where you brainstorm on the different ways that you can improve your efforts to recycle.
Not just Earth Day
Lastly, make sure that this is not only activities and actions that you make on Earth day. Make sure to continue to take more action for a better future every single day of the year! All these activities that we have suggested are things you can do any time of the year!
